My jeep wont start need help

I try and start it it cranks and clicks like it
wants to start but doesnt.. I jump it and it
starts easy then wont idle just dies! I take the
distributor cap off and clean the inside and
jump it again it will stay running but when i
turn it off and try and start it again i have to
repeat the process

mine did that but it ws because the alarm was on and didn't know it...had to reset the alarm
