The battery gauge on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo keeps dropping to zero and my "Check Gauges" light comes on. My battery seems fine and I have cleaned the cables and terminals. Any other causes?

My 96 Cherokee is doing the exact same thing..got a new battery last night and had auto zone put their machine on my Jeep and everything checked out fine..i need an answer too!
