4x4 o 95 grand cherokee laredo

My jeep is a 95 grand cherokee laredo, I want to
put it in 2wd for the summer but don't know if I'm
able to just take the front drive shaft out and call it
good or if there are precautions to take. Also Herd
you shouldn't take front drive shaft of of a 92-95
but it's fine for a 96-2000. Why is that?

Yes you can remove the front driveline, but why? You aren't going to gain significant fuel mileage to justify the removal. If you want better mileage then you need to sell the vehicle. Not trying to be a smart ass, just merely stating a fact.

I think the front diff is going out and need to tow a small trailer 600 hwy miles to move states and I hope removing the front drive shaft would delay the end of the front diff..not the way I d like to solve this but I am in a bad spot and gotta go
