Stalling issue on my 94' Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
V8 5.2. After about 10-15mins of running
wether I am letting it idle or while driving
the engine cuts off and stalls and it will not
start back up untill i let it sit and cool down.
Some people told me it was a fuel filter
issue, some say it's a PCM issue but most
people are saying to replace the Crankshaft
position sensor(CKP). Well i bought a brand
new CKP sensor and am having my
mechanic put it in for me on Monday due to
the lack of tools at my disposal. I am
hoping that this will solve my problem.
What are the possibilities that the CKP
sensor is the actual cause of the suden
engine cut off?

that sounds like the issue to me does it do it more in damp weather??...very common with that type of CKP .. ...// also check the coil as well the have a multi layer metal heat sink that rust up and expand cracking the coil and when they heat up causes the spark to go to ground

Damp or dry weather. It stalls out. Checked everything on it that can get to. Coils are good, fuel pump n fuel filter are fine.

Well turns out to be the one thing I didn't want it to be. The PCM is bad.

in the PCM there are '3' electrolytic 220 uf, 25wv capacitors in there that get 'leaky' and then need to be changed out. they are easily bought online from a number of sources but good soldering and component removal skills are required or you'll botch the job. be careful and observe the polarity stripe so you get the new ones in properly before soldering them in. good idea to be using an ESD (electrostatic discharge) strap and mat when doing the work so you don't damage the other components in the PCM. buying a used PCM from someone almost assures that those capacitors also are leaky or bad too. If you get the PCM and have access to an ESR meter you can check them for their equivalent series resistance to see how bad they are, sometimes in circuit even...but best to do this after they are pulled. if you are going to pull them, best to change them out. Also, 35 wv (working volts) capacitors are fine too but do NOT use anything with a working voltage under 25 volts!!!
