Audi A6 not blowing hot air all the way

Asked by cbadereti Jan 18, 2017 at 06:18 AM about the 2002 Audi A6 3.0 Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need help please, my Audi will blow little hot air after 20
minutes of driving, I checked the temperature gauge its
where it's supposed to be. As I drive more  I began to feel
hot air coming but I also see my temperature gauge rising
to the worst part so I quickly turn off the engine to prevent
overheating. I let the engine cool down for about 15
minutes and I crackup and drive for 20 minutes home
everything looks normal again no increase in temp gauge
at this time. Please could it be my termostart is bad?

Does your fan start ok? Is the antifreeze level ok? Also the thermostat could be bad, but first check the fan and temperature sensor. You could buy a cheap OBD scanner (like elm327) and see what is your temperature exactly (also good for monitoring more sensors).
