actuly this sounds like more of either a vacuum, spark or fuel issues. Check all your vacuum lines and air ways assure they are clean and there is no leaks. Clean your MAF sensor and change your fuel filter if its been on for over a year especially if you have not been using the best quality gas you can find. i almost guarantee its one of these two things. when i first bought my audi a4 it would barely run at idle. and all i did was change fuel filter and cleaned the maf and it ran perfect. security never usually has anything to do with it in an audi not starting or if it does its preaty rare.

when you say you changed your key do you mean you got a hole new key completely different then the original ? or the same key but a new ignition switch *aka the place you put the key into*
