I have an 05 GMC sierra 2500 HD and when I put it in 4x4 my light comes on to let me know its engaged but when I put any kind of load other then just driving the light turns off n its like I'm in 2x4

It's not going into 4X4. Some solenoid or other isn't physically working or it's popping out of 4X4. Have a transmission shop or the dealer examine the transfer case/controls.
