Won’t crank

Asked by CalebB2020 Jan 07, 2020 at 02:45 PM about the 2003 Audi A4 3.0 quattro Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an Audi A4 Quattro 3.0l and it won’t crank.
The signal wire to the starter was unplugged so I
had plugged it in. The relays in the ecm box did
have some water but relays still seemed alright. But
it did throw a p0686 code. Throw me some ideas to
check im lost.

check your box underneith. if there was water in there its highly likely the wires have coroded and broken off this code is commanly thrown when the pcm has no power meaning the relay is not working. If your lucky it needs a new realy other wise you will be hunting for a new relay box. try a wreckers for this part it may be cheaper then new if you can't rewire the socket or wires
