Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm working on a 2003 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. It was leaking oil when It rolled
into the shop. I checked under and found it was leaking from the aluminum pan
that the Oil pan bolts on to. My question is do they sell that part of the engine
separate and if so how much would it cost. I tried looking for that part but I can't
get a description on that part.

Note the picture, that is 6.0L engine, long block, where is it leaking? Found the picture in parts book. Is it the timing cover that is leaking? Other than that, I can't think of anything?

The engine is a 6.6 liter and it has the smaller oil pan. Your picture doesn’t show the part I’m talking. The part I’m talking about actually look like another oil pan but it’s aluminum and the smaller metal pan bolts on to it.

As you can see I took the oil pan off. The aluminum that’s left is where the leak is coming from “not cracked” coming from the top where it should be sealed. It looks like some one tried using high temp sealant on it .
