What would be the most likely cause for a 5.7L 350 vortec to have acceloration drag and loss of torck if the throttle is opened to wide while attempting to increase speeI

I have a 1994 GMC SL K2500 with a 5.7L 350
Vortec motor. Ive done a basic tune up.
Installed a new alternator.  New water pump.
Set timing. Checked for vaccum leaks and
cleaned all the grounds. I did a gasket rebuild
on the injectors and the fuel pressure regulator
but I did not use a new pressure regulator. The
problem I am having is that ever since I did the
gasket rebuild on the injector/pressure
regulator I have been having problwms with the
acceloration.  If I open the throttle to much the
vehicle doesnt seem to be able to get the type of
power in the engine that would normally occure
as you compress the gas peddle.  Instead it
sorta does the opposite.  Does anyone have a
forsure answere as to if my problem is infact my
fuel pressure regulator?

Probably the regulator. I would suggest that you get a fuel pressure test gauge and check the fuel pressure under load. Without the fuel pressure you would be under spraying and leaning out.

Turns out that this problem was do to the need for new fuel injectors and a new vacuum hose to the MAF from the tbi
