Bought a 2005 Audi A6 with a timing chain failure. Looking at buying a used motor from B&R wrecking that has the same miles but guaranteed to be good and run. Would it be a bad idea to buy a this motor and put in the car? Would I be playing with fire not replacing a timing chain on a motor with 150,000 miles?

Probably has several bent valves...

Used motor is about $1500 same as new timing chain kit but then yes I'll have to deal with at least one of the heads on the old motor and possibly other hidden problems.

The big problem with a used engine is it will be an unknown quantity. I personally would rather spend more and rebuild an engine rather than buy a used one.

That's what I was leaning towards just needed the extra opinion. Lol The thing is I don't know quality of original motor as I just bought it. But I guess with new timing chain it won't matter cause it will all depend on my maintence quality from then on.

The big issue is that you will likely have no idea how the used engine was serviced.

But that is an interference engine, and you will have to have the heads done, it collided valves with pistons almost certainly. Just replacing the timing chain is fine, but that does not fix the engine

is it possible to install an 2012 Audi supercharged 3.o liter motor into a 2005 Audi a6 3.2 engine compartment. My 3.2 motor is shot and looking to replace it.

Anytime you buy a used engine that is a interference engine always replace the timing chain or chains with the guides that goes with it.
