some more troubleshooting

Asked by Ivos Feb 13, 2018 at 12:11 AM about the 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Also, another problem that I have; since I've bought this
truck and changed the motor in it I've been experiencing
some acceleration problems. When the truck is in park it’ll
somewhat idle right, (but not like how it should be idling)
then when I put it in gear, it struggles to go. I’m having this
assumption that possibly the 02 sensors are bad, maybe,
for it to be running the way that’s it’s running. Plus I’ve
also had the fuel pump (but with a used one though) so at
this moment, I’m not very sure what the problem could be
or maybe at this time! So with that being said does
anyone have any idea’s on what my problem could be?

check sparkplugs first , gap and clean, test fuel pressure at shrader valve check point , also firing order may have got crossed

Okay I will look into that next, thanks! But one more thing, I have this oil leak, that is somehow getting oil over last two coils on the passenger side of my engine. Im guessing it’s coming from the head some where, I don’t know yet at the moment cause I’m still trying to find the area where it’s coming from!

maybe valve cover pan gaskets? oil might cause spark to jump to ground making a misfire, wipe and cover with rag to hold off oil and see if better running now, don't catch fire!

Ivos it could be your dipstick i had a issue on a car of mine one of the dipsticks would pop out and let oil come out might not be it but might not hurt to check
