Transmission keeps slipping

I have a 2000 gmc 1500 4.8. Yesterday the truck
started getting stuck in a gear and just stalling.
Then if I stopped for a min it would shift fine a few
times then right back to getting stuck.
Speedometer works but the correct mph is wrong.
Any ideas?

The best thing to do is to go to a transmission shop for proper diagnosis.
