Where is oil sending unit located on a 1996 gmc Sierra, 1500 , 5.7 , 4wd

Looks to be on the back of the engine near the fire wall.

The oil pressure gauge on my 1996 GMC 1590 4wd 5.7 engine ranges to 550 KPS . When idling the gauge reads around half..when under load the gauge reads half way between center & 550 KPS .
