Question type: Car Customization

I have a 95 gmc 5.7 350 and I am rebuilding the
motor right now. I am going to bore out the
cylinders and upgrade camshaft. I'm unsure of
what to upgrade it to. I'm looking for more power.
Also what are some other upgrades I can do while I
have the engine apart.

You do realize that you will have to have it professionally bored, take block to machine shop, not just a cylinder grinder that cleans cylinder walls. Then get the oversize pistons and rings to fit. Have to shop for those. Then 'upgrade cam' also means shopping for what you want, you must decide first, not get in to this 'unsure'. Best wishes on your project, it may get expensive. ~David

I would go for a RV cam that is designed for torque. I would also look into installing a longer stroke crank and making it a 383.

Excellent suggestion FoR. Just means piston rods also. OR, save yourself a headache and buy a crate engine. Won't cost you much if any more than all those mods to your 350

Hey tarver I didn't mean to insult you. Now I know that you are aware of what you are getting in to. Some guys start these projects not knowing. Again, Good Luck
