Is the kick down cable properly attached? Motor mounts good? I'd have a shop diagnose it for you.

The 94 1500 was the first year for the 4L60E (electronic) transmission. In order for it to work It needs inputs from a computer, to control shifting. It sounds like you are missing the inputs from the engine and the trans is in limp mode. You need throttle position sensor, vehicle speed sensor, coolant temperature senor, and a tach signal.
