Hve a 1992 gmc sierra put new spark plugs, distribitor cap and roatory button on and now it wont start, also when you turn the heater on it blows cold air please help thanks

check for 12 Volts at the coil~ if none there would suspect a bad ignition switch~ obviously if it ain't runnin you aren't going to have any heat...so this is a separate issue~ had any service done with the cooling system? 'cause it sounds like the heat-exchanger is air-bound...there should be a shroeder valve to elleviate this at the highest point firewall heater return line~

get your trouble codes...sounds like an IAT (intake air temp) sensor may not be doing it's job...in combination with the block temp sensor can make the air/fuel combination right~ after it warms up will run tooo rich~ get your trouble codes read and we'll be able to pinpoint the faulty device~

Yes. Check your spark plug wires first. Second check to see if your rotor is at number one at tdc of the firing stroke not after the exhaust cycle (180 out). Check the plugs on the coil, those piggy back ones suck, as well as the plugs on the back of the distributor. How did the pick-up coil and wiring look. When you turn it over do the injectors squirt fuel. If they don't it is either the pick-up coil or the ignition module in the distributor.

The ignition switch and a bad coil will cause fuel pump to shut off. Also bad coil wires. Had a kill switch in mine and it would do some funny stuff like not start...and did you replace your ignition module on the distributor when you did the cap and bug. It's totally worth it. And your already right there. That's the wires that plug into the back of the dis. Engine getting hot sometimes pop these as well.
