Hey I have 91 GMC sierra k1500, i just recently found out that my rear main seal is done for. I called a couple places to see how much it would cost to get fixed, but from what I've been hearing on the prices......i would rather do it myself. So i was wondering if there is any possible way of doing this without pulling the engine or the transmission?

One or the other has to be removed This is the seal around the crankshaft end so you need to get at it one way or the other. The usual way is removing transmission and transfer case, flywheel and its right there in a unboltable housing. Good Luck

I have a 95 Chevy 1500 four-wheel drive the four- wheel drive is really hard to get out of when it is engaged and I Am leaking about a little under a half a quart a day out of my rear main seal how horrible is it to replace by myself with no right tools or a shop to do it in I'm having a lot of trouble with this truck but I only paid 900 bucks for it
