Transfer case

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can a transmission be rebuilt without removing the
tranfer case? The mechanic claims that he rebuilt
the transmission without removing the tranfer
case. The drive shaft is broken at the yoke and
front differential and the 4wd is out.
