2004 gmc envoy xl

I have a 2004 GMC Envoy XL. When I
drive on the highway I lose complete
acceleration and still have power. I
have to pull over and put the vehicle in
park, shut it off and restart it again in
order to regain acceleration. Does not
happen on a Main road only happens
on the highway where its constant go
instead of stopping and going.

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? The basics for problems at higher rpms, check for blockage of some kind. The first two things I think of are fuel and exhaust. I did notice you have tac/throttle actuator control, at the moment I don't think that is your problem? Just my opinion.
