I’ve been trying to find a computer control module for our 1994 B350 van. The part #’s I have are 4886671 and the original part # 56028265. It has CA emissions. I have seen them with other part numbers that say they will ‘fit’ our van but I know the part is specific to this year van. Is there a way to know if these others are programmed to ru the 1994?

Try these guys https://www.partsgeek.com/mmparts/electronic_control_unit/dodge/b350.html

Or these guys ,,, they will custom program a new ECU for you ,,, what happened to the original?

The one in it isn’t controlling the volts going into the fuel injectors properly. Putting out over 13v and is supposed to be 10v or less. We were going to send it in to be rebuilt but we’re told they are disappearing when people send them in. The fellow I spoke with said it is part specific and has to be a 79-8265.

I'm an electrical engineer // Just out of curiosity . what is the result of having 13 volts at the injectors?. I have written a few papers on computer applications and the reliability of computers in industrial applications (Did you know that for at least 2 decades that Airliners have used computers to control aircraft? In fact pilots only have wires that go to the computer (Fly by wire) from their controls ,,, the plane is flown completely by computer ,,, every day thousands of lives are depending on computers to fly their plane /// That's reliability) The point of my post is that in 99.9% computers are not the culprit when diagnosed as the problem

The vast majority of fuel injectors are ground controlled. This means that of the two wires going to the injector one is held at steady 12 – 14 volts while the other lead is pulsed to ground by the ECM.

Don’t know if that’s the cause but when on the highway and let up on the gas it sputters. According to the manual it should only be 10 v. The code says it’s the engine control module. I have a 1994 Dodge b350 extended van 5.2L gas engine. I need to know if it has CA emissions or Fed. The vin # is 2b6kb31y9rk578915. Can you help me? I need a replacement for the engine control module 56028265. I’ve been told it is part specific and a replacement would be 79-8265. Will any other one work? I’m going crazy trying to figure all of this as there are so many! Thank you! Mary

Sure another computer will work ,,, when people move to Ca. from another state they must have a way to make their car meet Ca standards

Actually they don’t Mark. We had a Jeep we bought in Oregon that did not meet their standards. They charged us $300 because of it but a law suit filed by people being charged that made them refund it to everyone.

We finally received the part we ordered but never seemed to get. The check engine light is off now but there is still a sputter on idle and backfire when given a lot of gas and then let off.

This is where a picture of a GULP valve looks like http://www.discountautoparts.com/catalog-1/itemdetail/standard-motor-products/av51? checkfit=y&make=dodge&year=1994&model=b350#p__51H15A2BL_1

Yes Thomas_Rocks, we did find one from a place in Florida. It was the only out of three we found that actually worked.

Can you tell me the name of the company you found the computer , is it still working ? Thanks !
