Engine runs ruff and dies when put in gear

1990 dodge w250 auto ran great then took apart and rebuilt everything from ground up but the engine but did add headers and removed smog pump / o2 and cat. After back together ran good for about 2 weeks then started to die when put in gear

Did you check the idle air control valve
