06 DodgeGrandCaravan with occasional airbag light on after 78k miles and 29 months

Asked by keithew123 Jun 06, 2009 at 12:05 AM about the 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Are there any TSBs or warranties on this item, my dealer says both front sensors in the bumper are corrided and probably faulty,  as well as the clock spring - about $700 plus the $100 I dropped for a diagnosis... Any ideas?  This sounds just way too soon for this type of thing...  And PS my cruise control, horn and back wiper and all work ok. Opps my wife says the light is on all the time now..

Thanx Keith

You can still have the Clock Spring fail and have other functions that go through it work fine ( Cruise & Horn ) The Air bag system has a lower tolerance for any resistance hence the above statement. The Clockspring recall does not apply to your vehicle. If they have HARD codes for the front sensors they have to be done - I suspect ONLY the clockspring as it is the ONLY moving piece. The light coming on solid now is a GOOD thing and should be easily found now
