Yes, the manufacturer suggested may be 60K miles, HOWEVER, chryslers are notorious for blowing transmissions especially if you tow anything behind them. I would highly suggest doing a fluid change at a bare minimum of every 2 years/24K miles if you dont tow with yours or every year/ 15K miles if you do tow with them. Keeping the fluid fresh and clean is the best way to save the transmission and is much cheaper than having to replace a burned up transmission. Talk to anyone that has owned Chrysler minivans overy the years and they will all just about say the same thing.

Actually they recommend replacing fluid and filter every 30,000 miles. Don't just do the crappy flush machine you should drop the pan and replace fluid and filter.

2008 Grand Caravan, sealed tranmission. Change atf every 100,000 miles. According to Signal Hill Dodge Dealer it takes very special tranny fluid and about 1/2 day to change at a cost of $375. Called around and found one dealer to do it in 90 minutes at $325. DON'T DO IT YOURSELF

Sealed transmission? Why should we not change the atf ourselves, but let a mechanic do it? And how difficult is it to get this "special tranny fluid"? As true, there is no "dip stick" on my 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan, to even check fluid level!!! Is this why it is called sealed? Is this all to get the dealer to do the maintenance, as maintenance is a money maker for any industry! My van has 140,000 and I would like to do it myself, as I have always done my own maintenance. Strange deal, wish I could get anwser. Thanks

I tried to do this myself a few years ago. O'Reilly Auto told me you could use standard transmission fluid. It burned up the tranny within a day. The right transmission fluid can be obtained from the dealer at about the same price as the standard. The shop I took it to after it burned up said they would have to do a complete rebuild.

Every 30-50k miles. Use only ATF+4 fluid and a Mopar filter. Check youtube for hacks on using the oil dipstick to check trans fluid, or buy the trans dipstick made by Dorman 917-327, then you can change/check your own fluid.
