Help!!

After a Mechanic replaces my water pump, all of a
sudden my Dodge Grand Caravan is sputtering
after starting then shakes and then dies!!! I had
tbis mechanic look at it and he said its the timing
chain and said dont bother to fix it!! Its too
expensive! Just find a new car. Im now having to
find rides to work, im a single parent mom with a
daughter in a wheelchair...someone help!!!!

Sounds like a wannabe mechanic. Check the wiring around the water pump area there is a crankshaft sensor that has wires running to it located by harmonic balancer. He may have done harm to wiring or sensor in process of changing the wp.
