Have you tried turning the key to the "run" position and using a wire or long screw driver to jump the terminals on the starter? I had a vehicle years ago where the ignition switch had gone bad. I installed a push button on the inside of the car wired straight to the starter terminals. Then I could safety start the car from inside without having to risk shocking myself crawling under the car. It was a very old car and not worth the time and money to fix the ignition.
