Steering Rack Replacement

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1998 Grand Caravan AWD needs a new steering rack.  Is this something I can tackle myself with a friend?  We're both knowledgeable and mechanically inclined.

That being said - can it be done on a weekend?

Should be able to, as long as you can get the van lifted high enough. Much of the work in underneath and wheels will have to come off. Be sure to have the alignment done after the repair.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick repair. Never dove into something like this before. I've done control arm bushings. Brakes, intake manifold gaskets, etc. Never a rack. We're giving it a shot this weekend. Thanks again!
