What causes Low/No Compression in 2 cyl of 05 PT Cruiser?

Engine light came on, diagnosis said it was Air Control Valve.
Went to start the car, it sputtered and wouldn't turn over. Luckily there was a repair
shop next door, and they took her in.
They say it isn't the A/C Valve, but have no idea what is wrong.
Ran a compression test, 2 out of the 4 cylinders have 0 compression. Im thinking
timing belt/water pump?

It's a blow head gasket. Some people make the mistake thinking if it was a bad head gasket I would be getting anti- freeze in the oil. A head gasket not only separates the anti- freeze from the oil it also separates the cylinders compression from each other. Sounds like head gasket is blown between two cylinders causing compression mixing of the to cylinders.

If the timing belt were to be broken or damaged, the camshaft would no longer be able to turn anymore. This means it cannot open or close the exhaust valve or intake valve properly. As a result, the combustion in the cylinders will be ruined and no gases can get released. So, you have low compression because of it.
