I have 2004 or cruiser turbo
limited edition...only
72,000. Miles on.I've had no
engine problems at all ..a.c.
Wrkd excellent..then two
days ago I let someone use
my car they were gone 5
hours..I get in car and turn
on a.c. to have hot air
..blow out.I wait the next
day car has cool engine i
turn on a.c....same no cool
air. Is this something that
happens all of a sudden?
No signs or warni gs that
a.c. was going to stop
working?
I might add it leaves me
with a raised eyebrow
(suspecions) because the
person who used my car
has a special friend who
has a similar pt cruiser...ive
learned their friends a.c.
isn't working.....

I am like you, they swapped something out. Same year or generation? Are parts swappable on the two according to websites? 5 hours is enough time to exchange parts. Be a sleuth and see if their A/C is now working and get some info on what they replaced and see if it looks used...did they swap the compressors? Do you have fresh AC oil on your compressor or finger marks of grease? See if your system has a charge. Push the schrader valve a quick second to see. They probably didn't bother to recharge yours.

AC systems can just stop working. I had one that was blowing at 38 degrees one day and the next it was 100+. In was in my possession during this time. Did they steal your relay for the compressor clutch? Pressure switch? Anything unplugged? Missing fuse or relay in box. Keep in mind that all slots are not used on all models. Pull up diagram for your model on google.
