Head gasket blown or motor siezed?

Asked by May 08, 2017 at 09:57 AM about the 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2004 pt cruiser  gt turbo. Was running fine throu all
the gears turbo even kicked in for me. One thing it
burned oil quickly and come to find out that the
stalling issue I had was due to using regular gas
when the pt was asking for premium. Also the pt
was over heating and a few times had made a
gulping sound in the passenger dashboard I looked
that up and it called for anti-coolant. A couple
weeks later I'm putting in water because there is a
leak somewhere in the radiator. The week that I
was putting water in the pt was asking for oil. It
was over heating often then one day at a stop sign
it just stopped I tried to start it and it just getting
drained of power tried to jump it no luck it sounded
like it wanted to start there for a minute. Just didn't
fire up

Sure sounds like a blown headgasket, have you checked the compression yet? Oil consumption should be low unless something is worn out like the turbo seals, valve seals, or even the rings in the engine. It sounds like your working on this a home but you may need to have a shop perform a cylinder leak down test, that would tell you where the pressure is going, if it bubbles back into the cooling system is a head problem, if it blows back into the oil pan it's rings, if it blows in either the intake manifold or exhaust manifold it's valves.
