Try to start car, only starts with foot on gas and will only stay on with foot on gas.

Asked by May 15, 2017 at 01:44 AM about the 1991 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Took my car to goodyear to get them to check out
why my car stalls when I drive. The harness wires
are exposed and touching that plug into the
distributor and coolant temperature sensor. For the
car to start I have to mess with the wires.
Goodyear did a diagnosis, couldn't afford it. But the
harness and wires were the problem. Tried to start
my car after they did diagnosis to take it home and
the engine shakes now really bad when trying to
start it. I'll have to keep pressing on the gas for the
engine to stay on but as soon as I take my foot off
the gas, it dies. I don't know if when goodyear did
diagnosis, they might have left something
unplugged that would cause my car to do this or if
the wires would do it.
