What would cause brakes to lock up and car die on 1990 Chrysler new yorker?

Brakes went out, found cut in brake line. Replaced it and brakes did fine for
several days. Was driving home the other night and brakes locked up and then
car died and couldn't start it. Any suggestions on where to start?
