No heat

Asked by myworkid1987 Feb 23, 2015 at 03:32 PM about the 2002 Ford Taurus SE Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had a blown head gasket on my 02 ford
taurus that created a very small leak. Used
bars leaks head gasket fix and now my heat
only works it's best on low setting. Anything
higher it pushes out cold air. Heater core
clogged maybe? How much to fix and is
there anything I can do before making the
decision to fix it?

You probable clogged the heater core or the thermostat. You should see a hose going into the firewall and one coming out .. If the heater core is clogged it will need to be flushed by disconnecting those 2 hoses. At this point ... I suspect you may need more than a back-flush. If you really got heavy handed with the Barrs ... you may have clogged your thermostat too
