I cant find the location of the spark plugs or wires on my 2006 ford 500 car

The front three are in the center of the valve cover under the three round coils. The rear three are in the same place on the backside of the engine but the upper intake manifold must be removed to access them.

This is true. You have to remove the manifold, lots of wires and hoses, and the brace that goes across the top of the firewall. You need a 24MM socket to remove the brace. It is the easiest part of the job. Takes lots of time. Good luck. Shame on the man who designed this!

The front three took less than 15 minutes for change. I pissed around trying to take off that manifold for an hour before deciding doing it myself could very easily end up being pound foolish decision. I put it all back together and booked an appointment at the garage.

It took the mechanic nine hours to replace the plugs mainly because of the horrible design having to disassemble everything to get to the rear three plugs. Then I had to buy new seals for another$40.

I just changed all 6 spark plugs, pcv valve, air filter, cleaned the throttle body and changed the fuel filter on my fiancé car. I know basic mechanic skills but I never worked on a ford before so it was a little bit different. Took me about 5 or 6 hours in the driveway but I was in no rush. I found helpful video or two on utube, the hardest part was finding what fuse it was going to the fuel pump to depressurize the fuel line(F27 under the hood). Just take your time and when you take a hose or clip off the intake just remember where it goes or take a pic with your phone. Factory plugs are Motorcraft and I always check the gap before I put plugs in, don't trust pre gapped plugs.

GatorMike when taking off the intake manifold what did you have to remove. I am not trying to touch the fuel what's the easiest way to not have to fully take off the intake manifold just lift it and move it to the side!

Sorry there is no other way. Manifold has to come off to get to back 3 plugs & coils. I know it sounds crazy but really it is not that bad . And it gets easier every time you do it. Last I did plugs and coils . 2& a half hours start to finish .

Oh my, Y'all are way off; it's astonishing... It's actually pretty easy... Give it away (don't sell it, for not to financially curse another).. and get a Chevy!!!

To the comment from "thelil500thatcouldnt." . I actually parked my 98 Chevy Tahoe quite a few years ago now and replaced it with the Ford 500. I bought the Tahoe with 27k on it and the Ford 500 with 34k on it The Chevy Tahoe cost me over 15k in repairs and so far the Ford 500 I am less than 400 bucks after putting 160k kilometers on it. After owning that disaster of a Chevy Tahoe I will never buy a Chevy again! That being said I will never get rid of my V8 Vega though I have quite a soft spot for mine!
