2006 500 Ford gauges bad?

Asked by Aug 22, 2019 at 06:05 PM about the 2005 Ford Five Hundred Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This is a detailed story.. So my dad just bought me
a 2006 500 Ford.. I've only driven it a few times.
When I drove the first time, I had the air on and
radio on. I was driving around 50mph when the
radio shut off, the air, and I noticed all the gauges
went down, so I couldn't see how fast I was
driving.. But the car didn't turn off and I never
slowed down. I panicked for a good five seconds,
because then everything came back on like normal.
That happened about every 4-6 mins 4 more times.
But the last 25 mins of my drive home it didn't
happen again, until I was backing up in my
driveway, and parked. I had the car still running
when I told my dad, and as I was explaining it to
him it happened- all the gauges went down, the
radio turned off and so did the air.. But it only lasts
for a few seconds. I drove today to work and
home, and it didn't happen, but yesterday it
happened again, but the second time it happened
only the air cut off and the gauges went down but
kinda flickered, but the radio stayed on. I don't
know much about cars, but my dad put a new
battery in earlier this week, and obviously that was
not the issue.. I'm up to hear suggestions and to
see if anyone knows what's going on with my car.
