2v to 4v Head swap

Asked by Justin Jun 14, 2015 at 03:51 PM about the 1993 Ford Thunderbird LX RWD

Question type: Car Customization

After I have exhausted my bolt on
modification options, im moving to the
heads. I have a 93 TBIRD Lx with the 5.0l v8
(mostly stock). I need more horses. Im
addicted to the power. So my next move is
the Heads. I believe I have a 2v set of
heads. Which we all know restricts alot of
air flow. Even a highly machined 2v heads
font compare to a stock pair of 4v. Can
anyone recommend a set of heads for my
engine? Also which cam should I get? Also
intake manifold? Clearance is not a
problem. I have a great hood coming in that
adds alot of extra clearance.

Thanks in advance!

If you have a 93 with the original 5.0 there are no options for 4 valve per cylinder for the Windsor motor. In 1994 the T-bird came with the overhead cam 4.6 and there are heads available for doing a 4 valve conversion.
