Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've replaced upper lower balls on 95 through 99, no problem.  Now have to to the daughters 2003.  Looked at the upper, no problem, like the 95 through 99, but the 2003 does not have torsion bar suspension.  Do I have to compress the spring/strut assembly to remove it?  Secondly, the 200 buck price tag for the lower arm and ball is a bit extreme.  I understand ford recommends replacing the entire control arm, but can I install a new 40 buck ball and re-use the arm?  The bushings are in good shape.  And what about the upper ball, can I press a new one in?

Yes, you do have to use force to create clearance, yes take it off of there and have the new one pressed in (if that's what it is I seem to remember a four bolt flange on them)
