Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 4.0. When the heat
is on it dies. I don't know what it could be. Any help
would be much appreciated.

Could be a few things, the thermostat may need replacing, there is a heater valve in the heater hose going to the heater core, that could be bad, or even a plugged heater core itself. Also make sure the coolant level is full.
