Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My expedition will not move in drive, 2, 3 gear but it will go in reverse. Is this the transmission or the linkage?

It's a little different transmission, but same maker (Ford). Valve bodies can't be much different

it sounds like the transmission is the problem, check the fluid to see of it is burnt smelling or maybe climb under your car and check the linkage.

It sounds like you will need to rebuild this transmission. How many miles on the car? Was the transmission oil EVER changed? Sounds like it was run very low.
