Do you remove positive cable from battery to charge it?
Battery is 1 year old. Today it was completely dead. Battery charger won't
charge it. Should positive battery cable be removed before trying to charge?
You don't have to remove the cable to do so. If it won't take a charge and is completely dead, ,my guess is you have a shorted cell. What is the voltage? I suspect you have a low number like 2 or 4V. Time for a new battery. Yes, they do fail at only 1 year old. Most batteries sold today have a 2 or 3 year warranty, so take it back to the place you bought it for a new one.
