Question type: General

My '04 expedition shut off engine when I get to a stop the
first time in the morning, then it runs good the rest of the
day.I dont have that issue the rest of the day and it doesnt
happen every day.Can that be a fuel filter dirty?

As this occurs only when the engine has not yet warmed, I'd first suspect a defective engine coolant temperature sensor. Otherwise, it could be a vacuum leak, intake airflow sensor, or gap in the intake, Might be the MAP sensor, or Throttle Position Sensor, or maybe a bad O2 sensor. This could even be caused by dirty injectors or a problem in the fuel pump system causing low pressure. Whether you have warning lights on the dash or not, go to a car parts and have them attach a cone reader, probably free. That might pinpoint the problem.
