Transmission

Asked by GuruX3JSV Nov 27, 2018 at 01:37 AM about the 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Will go into park and reverse. Can force it
into drive by reving it up but the 2 and 1
gear it wont lock into. I ran a diagnostic
and got the code for the range sensor.
Replaced that and found that the gear
shift cable was not even on the arm
connected to the transmission. Replaced
the gear shift cable and now it will not
start....any ideas? Is it the transmisson or
just the gear shift cable???? Please help i
have been working on this for a week now
in 20 degree weather.  I just want my truck
back...

It's the range sensor adjustment, turn the ignition switch on put the shifter in reverse abjust the range switch until the back up lights come on, or adjust the range switch while someone holds the key in start when it cranks tighten it up. I hope the helps
