Engine Misfire

Asked by GuruT5GBH Jun 15, 2018 at 12:25 PM about the 2006 Ford Escape XLT Sport AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006  Ford Escape, it is the V6 model with full time 4 wheel drive. I have been having a misfire on #1 cylinder. When it starts misfiring I lose the A/C Compressor too. From surfing the internet and my background in auto repair I am sure it is in the primary wiring system. A lot of folks claim it is the primary loom going to the engine management computer. The three top plugs are easy peasy but where is the other end of that loom located? Does anybody have experience in replacing that loom at all?? How much does the loom cost?? Any info would be helpful

I would suspect the coil and/or the spark plugs. BTW your Escape is part time AWD. It runs in FWD almost all the time.
