Problems Programming keyless remote 2002 Escape

Asked by GuruYDYXK Feb 19, 2018 at 08:48 PM about the 2002 Ford Escape XLT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought a replacement keyless remote for
my 2002 Ford escape because the old one
no longer worked. So I know it is the
correct one needed, but I cannot get it to
program despite using the retailers
instructions. Could something like a blown
fuse cause a problem or is there another
procedure to try or anything else to check
before throwing in the towel?

Thank you for the tips. I changed out the battery and tried again but still no luck. The needles all go to the far right and then back again but the locks never cycle through. That’s what happens every time. I’ve tried it starting with doors locked and unlocked. Any other ideas? Thanks for your time!
