Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just changed the slave master fly wheel and shift plate in
my 93 Ford Ranger but now I can’t shift into any gears
while the truck is on it tries to go into reverse but grinds
and doesn’t engage. Anyone have any answers for this
problem?

In changing the flywheel, did anything happen to the clutch? Did you bleed the clutch lines and replace the fluid after installing everything?

I don’t believe anything happened to the clutch and the only thing that I bled was the clutch slave. I have never done this stuff before I watched YouTube videos on how to do it so I’m lost on how any of this works hahaha

You'll have to drop your transmission and recheck the clutch. Did you use a clutch alignment tool when reinstalling it?

If everything's installed correctly and you have no air in your lines, the only thing I can think of is the cylinder might be stuck

Trans has excessive thrust clearance in the input shaft caused from wear on the thrust bearing behind the input shaft that the clutch disc is splined to causing it to continue to rotate while the engine is running that's why it shifts ok untill you start the engine. This is something else I was told any thoughts?
