why does my digital dash not read correctly since fuel pump was changed??

under miles to empty it reads CO .fuel gauge isn't reading ,it's got two blank spots

Maybe the gas tank level sending unit was unplugged.

CO means circuit open, so either the wiring from the sender is broken somewhere or the sender was damaged during the replacement of the pump.
