97 crown vic misfire/backfire

Asked by Jesse Jul 30, 2016 at 05:32 AM about the 1997 Ford Crown Victoria 4 Dr LX Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria that misfires
and backfires under any kind of load it takes it
forever to get up to speed and it's very lurchy. I
took it to a friend's shop and put it on the code
reader and it said it headed misfire and every
cylinder except for 3 and 5 what would be the
issue?

What did your friend say about at his shop does he repair cars? Misfiring is caused by No spark or NO fuel or a completely destroyed (hardware valves, pistons, gaskets.) engine.. If its still rotating. I'd begin by checking for spark at all cylinders, and reading all the DTC codes.
