my speedometer and gas gauge do not work, is it the entire instrument cluster that needs to be replaced?

2005 chevy trailblazer ext 4.2 I6, the speedometer and gas gauge do not work, but the
other gauges work, someone told me to replace the entire instrument cluster because the
cluster motor is bad on these cars

I think the gauges are serviceable. There are stepper motors behind each gauge and are noted for going bad. Plenty of info on uutube to look at.
