Asked by Car_non_Smart Oct 28, 2018 at 05:35 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet Tracker 4-Door 4WD

Question type: General

I was driving in the city when my breaks stopped working, my foot when all
the way down on the break pedal and I couldn´t stop my Chevrolet 2000
Tracker,  almost crashed.
Some guys took a look at it  and said it was because I had the 4WD on 2H
and ot keep the 4WD off I needed to put it on N....but when I move the floor
shifter s to N.... a 4x4 green light goes on.
I need to know what gear the 4WD should be left on while cruising in the city
Pls someone answer!

Thanks So Much!!! Very Helpful. Hadn't been able to find an answer to this. Any Ideas why I mt breaks stopped working? I had just got the car back from the smog check, the mechanic took care of it, but when I got the car back I noticed it was quite much accelerated, breaks were hard, and there was a strong jerk when shifting from P to D or R Im taking the Tracker to a new garage, but I´m afraid I will run out of breaks again, any suggestions? I dont want to do anything wrong that will cause the break pedal going all the way down and not working!!
