i have a chevy silvarado 2500 and i want to put a tuner in it but its a standard is it worth it?

Do you mean a stereo tuner ? How long do you expect to keep the truck ?, How much do you plan on driving the truck (daily, weekly) ?, and How much of a true music coinsure are you ?

What do you expect to get out of it ? Are you looking for better mileage or more horsepower and speed ? Tuners are good for some things if you are looking to get more torque by adjusting the timing and shift points with a load, but I don't see a need for one in the "everyday driver" truck.
